Six Star Fit Figure Review

Fit Figure is Six Star Pro Nutrition’s non-stimulant weight-loss supplement marketed to women. It’s a relatively simple formula, with just three primary ingredients: Green Coffee Extract, Garcinia Cambogia, and Yacon…

Six Star Fit Figure

Green Coffee Extract contains Chlorogenic Acid which has been shown to block carbohydrate absorption in humans, thus mimicking the effects of a reduced carb-diet.  While many supplement companies (not to mention the media) have seriously exaggerated the efficacy of Green Coffee Extract, it has been shown to induce some modest weight-loss, with over-weight individuals being the most likely to derive benefit.

We discuss Green Coffee Bean more in depth here but, to make a long story short, the effective range is 300mg or more of Chlorogenic Acid daily.

Fit Figure contains 400mg of Green Coffee Extract yielding 45% Chlorogenic Acid, so two servings would be needed daily.

The primary bioactive in Garcinia Cambogia is Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA), which is alleged to reduce body weight via inhibition of ATP Citrate Lysase, an enzyme required for the synthesis of fatty acids from carbohydrates (de novo lipogenisis).

In theory, blocking this enzyme would essentially stop excess carbohydrates from being stored as fat. Unfortunately, while inhibition of ATP Citrate Lysase has resulted in weight-loss in rodents, the implications for humans are less promising, because de novo lipogenesis occurs less in humans than rodents.

We discuss Garcinia Cambogia in depth in this article, but the bottom line is that it isn’t particularly effective in humans.  Fit Figure contains 150mg.

Smallanthus sonchifolius, also known as Yacon is generally touted as an appetite suppressant, with one human study backing this claim.

A 2009 study from “Clinical Nutrition” noted weight-loss in moderately obese women who were given Yacon syrup over the course of 120 days.  This was attributed to appetite reduction.

Fit Figure could possibly result in slight weight-loss, mostly due to Green Coffee Extract, as the other ingredients are either under-dosed or just completely ineffective.  There are much better non-stimulant weight-loss supplements out there.
