Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Nitro Review

Sheer Nitro is a Nitric Oxide booster by Sheer Strength Labs which is part of the Platinum Series.  The formula is relatively simple, with just 7 key ingredients…

Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Nitro

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline is a precursor to the amino acid Arginine which in turn is a precursor to Nitric Oxide.  Citrulline, however, is much more effective at raising plasma Arginine levels than Arginine when supplemented.

Citrulline has been shown to increase Nitric Oxide production and enhance muscular endurance in human subjects at doses ranging from 6-9g, usually in the form of Citrulline Malate.

Sheer Nitro contains 6g of Citrulline Malate per serving, a true clinical dose capable of conveying the benefits discussed above.

Betaine, also known as Trimethylglycine, is capable of inducing some noticeable pumps, but not through mechanisms related to Nitric Oxide.

Instead, Betaine works by drawing water into muscle cells, creating a phenomenon which has been referred to as “cellular swelling”.

Sheer Nitro contains 1.5g of Betaine per serving, not exactly in line with the majority of the research, but still potentially effective to some degree.

Taurine, like Betaine, is capable of drawing water into cells.  Compounds that have this property are called Osmolytes.

Taurine has other properties that make it worth supplementing with if your concerned with exercise recovery, but Sheer Strength Labs appears to be more concerned with the pump aspect in this instance.

Sheer Nitro contains 1,500mg of Taurine, well within the clinical range.

Nitrosigine is a novel form of Arginine bonded with Silcon, known as Arginine Silicate.  Studies have shown that Nitrosigine is much more effective at raising plasma Arginine levels than standard Arginine and therefore may provide the benefits that Arginine should provide.

So, if you’re going to supplement with Arginine, Nitrosigine isn’t a bad way to go.

Sheer Nitro contains 750mg dose of Nitrosigine.

Tyrosine has no obvious implications for increasing pumps, but can be useful for maintaining focus and overall cognitive function during extended strenuous exercise.

It works by supplying the brain with substrate for the synthesis of Dopamine and Noradrenaline, two neurotransmitters that control various aspects of cognitive function including focus and mood.

To be clear, Tyrosine does not directly “boost” Dopamine and Noradrenaline levels, it merely helps preserve levels in instances where they would otherwise be depleted.

BioPerine’s function is quite simple.  It enhances the absorption of other nutrients when co-ingested.  In the context of Sheer Nitro, BioPerine doesn’t contribute to the pump or Nitric Oxide production, but may enhance the overall efficacy of the formula.

Huperzine A

Huperzine A is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, meaning it blocks the enzymes responsible for the degradation of Acetylcholine.  Acetylcholine, for those unfamiliar, is a neurotransmitters which plays an important role in cognitive function and muscle contraction.

Huperzine A can indirectly increase Acetylcholine levels which may favorably impact exercise performance.

Is Sheer Nitro Safe?

There is nothing even remotely dangerous about the Sheer Nitro formula.  It contains no stimulants, so no need to worry about negative side effects such as jitter or anxiety.

The Bottom Line
