Amino Lean is an amino acid supplement which is geared toward weight-loss. It’s basically a BCAA/intra-workout supplement that is supposed to subtly promote weight loss.
Of course the question is:
Does Amino Lean Work?
Well, to answer that question, there’s only one thing we can really do.
We need to take a look at:
- The Ingredients
- The Doses Of Those Ingredients
- Determine Whether They Can Really Promote Weight-Loss
You see, supplements aren’t so complicated when you consider the fact that the effectiveness of a supplement boils down to the ingredients and the doses of those ingredients.
If the ingredients have been proven to work, and the doses are in-line with what research has determined to be a clinical dose, then you’ve got yourself a good supplement.
So, how does RSP Amino Lean stack up? Let’s get into it…FIND IT HERE
Amino Lean Ingredients
RSP has opted to use a proprietary blend, which makes it nearly impossible to accurately estimate the doses of each ingredient. The good news is that RSP breaks it up into groups of ingredients:
- Amino Acid Blend
- Fat-Loss Blend
- Natural Energy And Focus Blend
Although it would be nice to know precise doses of each ingredient, this makes it at least possible for us to make educated guesses about how effective each blend really is.
Amino Acid Blend
Amino Lean’s Amino Acid Blend is comprised of:
And also the following amino acids:
With the exception of Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, the BCAAs, and maybe Taurine, these amino acids are all pretty useless.
The truth is, you probably get plenty of them for your diet or even a post-workout protein shake.
They’re just amino acids. Any protein-containing food supplies everything you need.
While many of the amino acids found in this blend would be effective performance enhancers, almost all of them are severely under-dosed.
Citrulline alone should be dosed at 6-8g in order to achieve the performance enhancement benefits. That’s more than the entire Amino Acid Blend. Doesn’t take a genius to do the math there.
Fat Loss Blend
RSP lists the combined amounts of:
at 1500mg per serving, again leaving a lot of guess work determining whether each ingredient is dosed sufficiently.
While not as under-dosed as the Amino Acid Blend, there are certainly some issues here.
First off, as discussed in this article, CLA is not a particularly effective weight-loss agent.
Green Tea Extract and Green Coffee Extract can be effective at high enough doses but given that the entire blend is only 1500mg and those two ingredients are listed last, it’s unlikely that the Amino Lean formula contains clinical doses of either.
To be perfectly candid here…
None of the the ingredients will help much (or at all) with losing fat unless combined with some kind of stimulant fat-burner.
Natural Energy Blend
The Amino Lean Natural Energy Level Blend consists of:
We’d estimate the total amount of Caffeine at about 100mg, not a particularly high dose but still potentially effective for individuals who don’t regularly consume Caffeine.
Caffeine can help facilitate fat-loss by triggering the release of Catecholamines, a group of fat-burning molecules (hormones) which are also responsible for the feelings of increased alertness and focus.
What To Expect With Amino Lean
Assuming you take enough, Amino Lean may promote exercise recovery and improve performance, but the fat-loss aspect of the formula is pretty weak. The truth is the fat-loss ingredients just aren’t very effective.
It’s a nice thought…
An amino acid supplement that you can sip on all day knowing that it’s burning extra fat…but keep dreaming.

The Bottom Line
Amino Lean is pretty disappointing. Nearly all of the ingredients are under-dosed, in some cases quite severely, and two out of the four weight-loss ingredients just don’t work well to begin with.
It seems RSP is continuing to capitalize off the uneducated supplement consumer by using proprietary blends, a tactic that I really hope to see the end of in the next couple years.
My opinions are my own (of course), but the scientific facts I laid out are just that: scientific facts.
Take it with a grain of salt if you want, but I’ve spent the last 5 years of my life researching supplements and educating as many people as possible.
My goal is never to talk badly about another brand. By all means, give RSP’s Amino Lean a chance!
But if you’re looking for an amino acid supplement that actually contains clinical doses of scientifically proven ingredients which will:
- Enhance Performance
- Promote Recovery
- Support Muscle Growth
I hate to see people waste their hard earned cash on supplements that just aren’t what they claim to be.
