RPN Havoc: Everything You Need To Know

Havoc is a muscle-building pro-hormone by Recomp Performance Nutrition (RPN) which contains one ingredient:

2a,3a-epithio-17a-methyl-5a-androstan-17b-ol, also known as Epistane.

It has become extremely popular among those looking to gain a decent amount of muscle without the toxicity and serious side effects that other pro-hormones are capable of causing.

But is Havoc really the best product out there for building lean muscle?  Let’s take a look and see…

RPN Havoc

What Are The Ingredients In RPN Havoc?

As briefly mentioned above, there is only one active ingredient in Havoc…

2a, 3a-epithio-17a-methyl-5a-adrostan-17b-ol (Epistane)

2a, 3a-epithio-17a-methyl-5a-adrostan-17b-ol, also known as Epistane, is a prohormone muscle-building compound that was released around 2007, originally by Recomp Performance Nutrition (RPN), but has since been reproduced by many other brands including:

  • Epidex (PharmaTec)
  • Epi-10 (LGI)
  • Epistane (IBE)

It’s popularity stems from the fact that it produces mostly dry gains and isn’t considered to be very “harsh” compared to many other prohormones, making it a viable option for beginners or people who are just looking to test the waters with PH’s.

Epistane is anti-estrogenic and does not aromatize, meaning Estrogen-related side effects are unlikely.

How Does RPN Havoc Work?

Epistane increases your bodies Testosterone production far beyond the normal range.  This results in:

  • Increased Muscle Mass
  • Decreased Fat Mass
  • A Slight Libido Boost

In other words, you’ll be able to push/pull more weight, pack on more muscle than you normally would be able to, and decrease body fat (assuming you eat clean) at the same time.

Ultimately, it’s one of the more versatile pro-hormones on the market.

What Kind Of Results To Expect With Havoc

Because Havoc produces extremely dry (lean) gains, and doesn’t cause much water retention, it can be combined with either a cutting or bulking diet for the desired effect.

When combined with a lean (cutting) diet, Havoc can produce noticeable gains in strength and endurance.  Double-digit size gains are unlikely on a cutting diet, but on average you can look to gain 5-7 pounds of lean muscle mass while simultaneously cutting fat.

When combined with a bulking diet, Havoc can result in even larger strength gains and increase lean mass 10+lbs.

Many users report looking leaner than they did when they start their cycle, even though they’ve gained several pounds.  This is simply because Epistane has inherent fat-burning properties and is very light on water retention.

It’s not the strongest pro-hormone, but not everyone wants to gain 30 pounds in a month.

If you’re looking for something that will

  • increase strength/endurance
  • cut fat
  • pack on 5+ pounds of lean muscle

Then Havoc is definitely a fine choice.  Just don’t expect to get massive off it.  It’s just Epistane.  You’d have to stack it with something else to produce double-digit lean mass gains most likely.

How Long Should I Take Havoc?

Since Epistane (the key ingredient in Havoc) is relatively modest in terms of toxicity and gains, the average cycle length is somewhere between 6-8 weeks.

Users use anywhere from 20-40mg per day, generally spaced out as evenly as possible.

How long you run it for is really up to you, but anymore than 8 weeks and you may start to experience some unwanted side effects.

Is Havoc Safe?

Havoc is definitely one of the least harsh prohormones out there in terms of toxicity and general side effects, but when running any PH cycle, you need to use supports.

These include liver support supplements like Milk Thistle, N-Acetylcysteine, or TUDCA.

It’s never a bad idea to utilize a joint support supplement either.  One of the primary complaints with Havoc is that it dries out your joints which can be very painful for some people and get in the way of pushing yourself to the max.

Of course this “dryness” is the same quality that makes Epistane attractive to many people, but users should take steps to avoid any sort of injuries.

Get a good joint support supplement and pre-load it before/during your cycle.

Does Havoc Require A PCT?

Yes, any compound that boosts your Testosterone far beyond the normal range is going to require a proper Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) regimen.

You see, when you artificially boost your Test levels to the point that muscle growth is accelerated, your body will naturally try to compensate by producing more Estrogen.

While on cycle, this isn’t that big a deal, but once you come off, you’re left with higher than normal Estrogen levels.

High Estrogen levels can lead to:

  • Gynecomastia (Bitch Tits)
  • Irritability
  • Joint Pain
  • Mood Swings
  • Decreased Sex Drive

And whole host of other issues that you probably don’t want to deal with.  That’s why you should make sure you have a suitable PCT supplement ready for when you come off.

You don’t necessarily need something like Tamoxifen (Nolvadex) for a PH like Havoc.  A strong PCT supplement will do the trick.

Where To Buy Havoc

You won’t find Havoc in many retailers, but it’s easily obtainable from any one of multiple sellers on Ebay.  If you’re based in the UK, you can also find it at Predator Nutrition.

Unfortunately, there is no longer an official RPN website anymore.

The Bottom Line

If you haven’t taken any pro-hormones before, Havoc is a fine choice.  It’s not particularly harsh, but the strength and size gains are noticeable.

It’s one of the more flexible PH’s in the sense that your diet will dictate how much size you gain and the influence on your body composition.  You can use it for either cutting or bulking, depending on how you structure your diet and workouts.

Still, Havoc is definitely one of the better pro-hormones in terms of the trade-off between safety and efficacy. exists to educate the supplement community and seperate the science from the hype.
