HighT PRO Formula Five Turbo T Review

Turbo T is a testsosterone-booster recently released by HighT as part of the HighT PRO Formula Five series. Like other HighT products we’ve reviewed, Turbo T aims to do more than just boost Testosterone…

Fenugreek is one of the most popular Test-boosting ingredients, and has been studied fairly extensively for this purpose.  We discuss the effects of Fenugreek in this article, but basically it may be used to increase Testosterone levels and enhance libido, though not with 100% reliability.

It’s not clear exactly how much Fenugreek extract is present in Turbo T, but given that it’s listed first in the proprietary blend there is certainly no reason to suspect it is extremely under-dosed.


Tynanthus panurensis is a vine native to the Amazon which has a documented history of use as a tonic and vitality enhancer by people indigenous to that area, but has not been researched extensively in the world of modern medicine.

That said, Tynanthus Panurensis extract has been shown to exert anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in vitro.  The effects on Testosterone have not been studied at this time, but it stands to reason that Tynanthus Panurensis may have a Testosterone-sparing effect due to it’s anti-oxidant properties.

Such an effect has been noted with various anti-oxidant compounds though and there is certainly no reason to suspect it is particularly potent with Tynanthus Panurensis.  So, at this point, we’d consider it one of the more speculative ingredients in Turbo T.


Rhodiola Rosea has been studied for a variety of purposes.  It contains adaptogenic properties that give it a wide variety of implciations, from performance enhancement to stress-reduction.

One human trial, to determine a possible role in erectile dysfunction, found that subjects who consumed 150-200mg Rhodiola Rosea daily for three months experienced heightened sexual function.

Whether this was a direct result of increased testosterone is unknown, but given the preliminary support from the animal studies, it is certainly a possibility.

Although we’re not sure how much Rhodiola is present in Turbo T, there are no obvious red flags that indicate it may be under-dosed, so we’ll give HighT the benefit of the doubt and assume there is an effective dose.


Boron has been shown to increase Testosterone to a statistically significant degree (28%), but has also failed to do so elsewhere, making it appear a little unreliable as a test-booster.  We discuss the influence of Boron on Testosterone in this article, but to make a long story short: It may be moderately effective for encouraging optimal Testosterone production and therefore makes sense as an ingredient in Turbo T.


Despite the popularity of Raspberry Ketone, it has never actually demonstrated any efficacy for weight-loss in actual humans and, even in rat studies, has produced lackluster results using massive concentrations.

We discuss the implications (or lack thereof) of Raspberry Ketone for weight-loss in this article, but here’s the quick version:

Raspberry Ketone is not particularly effective as a practical weight-loss solution because the concentrations required to elicit noticeable effects would be far more than could realistically be consumed in the form of a supplement.

HighT lists Raspberry Ketone under the “Advanced N.O. Blend” in Turbo T though, so it’s not clear whether it is intended as a weight-loss ingredient or not.  More than likely it was tossed in “just because”.


Beta-Alanine is a precursor to the peptide Carnosine which acts as a lactic acid buffer in muscle tissue. This means higher muscle Carnosine levels can increase muscular endurance.

Beta-Alanine is considered the rate-limiting amino acid in the synthesis of Carnosine and supplementation has been shown to significantly increase muscular Carnosine levels, leading toperformance enhancement.

It’s not clear how much Beta-Alanine is present in Turbo T, but given its position in a 2,270mg  proprietary blend, it appears under-dosed.


Citrulline is a precursor to Arginine and is therefore heavily involved in the Nitric Oxide cycle. Unlike supplemental Arginine, however, Citrulline is not subject to breakdown by the enzyme Arginase and is therefore more effective for increasing circulating Arginine levels than supplemental Arginine.

At this point, Citrulline (usually as Citrulline Malate) has been studied fairly extensively with all the research indicating it is an effective performance enhancer.

Specifically, Citrulline has been demonstrated to increase muscular contraction efficiency which means more reps can be performed later on in the workout.

Citrulline has also been shown to reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness.

Like Beta-Alanine, it’s a safe bet that HighT has under-dosed the Citrulline in Turbo T.


Arginine is commonly alleged to increase Growth Hormone secretion.  Fortunately for us, a good amount of research has been conducted investigating this claim.

A 2010 study from “The Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research” found that post-exercise Arginine/Ornithine supplementation had no effect on Testosterone levels, but did increase GH and IGF-1 levels (with levels of these normalizing within one hour).

However, Arginine has also been shown to blunt the exercise-induced GH spike compared to exercise alone in a 2006 study and a 2008 study, both published in the “Journal of Applied Physiology”.

Currently the reason for the discrepancy is unknown, but given that any increase is likely to normalize quickly, Arginine isn’t an effective way maintaining consistently high GH levels.

In the context of Turbo T, Arginine AKG is probably a pretty useless ingredient.  There isn’t enough to increase blood-flow and any effect on growth hormone would probably be pretty unreliable.


Alpha GPC is considered the most bioavailable source of Choline and is actually the only form that has been studied with regards to both performance enhancement and growth-hormone response. We discuss the impact of Alpha GPC on Growth Hormone in this article.

High T Turbo T contains an effective 500mg dose of Alpha GPC, enough to boost growth hormone and power output during exercise.


Carnitine has also been quite extensively researched for a variety of potential uses.  Though often touted as a weight-loss ingredient (not supported by research), Carnitine is actually quite reliable for reducing oxidative muscle damage and ultimately makes for a highly effective recovery aid.

This effect has remained consistent throughout multiple studies, with L-Carnitine L-Tartrate being the most common form used.  These benefits are thought to be related to the ability of Carnitine to increase muscle oxygenation.

Unfortunately, HighT Turbo T contains a pretty low dose, so it’s not clear whether LCLT makes much of a difference in this case.


In the past few years, Agmatine has gone from a rare ingredient to a pre-workout staple, though it remains seriously under-researched relative to other popular pre-workout ingredients. Agmatine has been shown to up-regulate Endothelial Nitric Oxide (eNOS), sometimes referred to as the “good” NOS, while inhibiting the other NOS enzymes (the “bad” NOS) in vitro, but human studies are non-existent.

Still, anecdotal reports of Agmatine improving the “pump” are as pervasive as the ingredient itself at this point, so there is something to it.

Unfortunately, HighT Turbo T contains a pretty disappointing dose of Agmatine (100mg), meaning it’s probably won’t provide particularly noticeable pumps.


Caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance in the world, and for good reason: it works! Caffeine can enhance focus, increase perceived energy, cause greater muscle contractions, and encourage fat-oxidation, though individual tolerance tends to vary pretty considerably from person to person.

Turbo T contains 70mg of Caffeine, not enough for the average habitual Caffeine user to feel much but for people who rarely (or never) consume Caffeine it may provide some additional energy and focus.


HighT Pro Formula Five Turbo T has what it takes to enhance libido and optimize Testosterone production, but some of the performance enhancing ingredients are under-dosed on a per serving basis.  To the credit of HighT, Turbo T does contain an effective 500mg dose of Alpha GPC which is something we don’t see very often, but that doesn’t necessarily make up for the under-dosed ingredients like Betaine-Alanine, Citrulline, and Agmatine.
