Anthroplex: An Evidence-Based Review

Anthroplex is a libido-enhancement supplement created and marketed by Alex Jones on the InfoWars website.  According to Alex it’s supposed to be stacked with his other product, Super Male Vitality, to “restore your masculine foundation and stimulate vitality”…

InfoWars Anthroplex

Alex Jones claims AnthroPlex “works synergistically with the powerful Super Male Vitality formula” in order to increase:

  • Libido
  • Vitality
  • General Wellbeing

But that they couldn’t simply add the ingredients from AnthroPlex into Super Male Vitality because “he years of research and testing put into the precisely balanced Super Male Vitality formula have proven that the exact ratios of the cold pressed organic herbs are essential to maintain”.

To be clear, that’s complete nonsense.  The real reason they’re two separate products is so they can be stacked and Alex can make more money…so why not just say that?  Let’s take a look at the ingredients of Anthroplex in order to determine just how effective it really is…

Anthroplex Ingredients

Anthroplex contains four active ingredients, all of which are supposed to enhance aspects of hormonal function and vitality…

Zinc Orotate

Zinc is an essential mineral required for the production of Testosterone and proper immune function.  Zinc deficiency is characterized by abnormally low Testosterone levels, so supplementing with Zinc can increase Testosterone in instances of deficiency.

We discuss the impact of Zinc on Testosterone in our article Does Zinc Increase Testosterone, but to make a long story short, it doesn’t unless you’re deficient.  It’s worth supplementing with if you don’t consume enough zinc through you’re diet, but if you do, you won’t notice much a difference in terms of Testosterone or immune function.

Anthroplex contains 1mg of Zinc Orotate…a pretty low dose considering the daily RDI is 10-15mg/day.

Horny Goat Weed

Horny Goat Weed has been used for thousands of years as an herbal aphrodisiac and libido enhancer.  The active component, Icariin, has been shown to enhance aspects of sexual function but the extract used in AnthroPlex doesn’t have a standardization of Icariin listed…which leads us to believe it doesn’t contain any.

Horny Goat Weed without the active component, or with a low amount of it, isn’t going to be effective.

Tribulus Terrestris

Tribulus, like Horny Goat Weed, has long been used as an aphrodisiac and libido enhancer.  Years ago, it was believed that Tribulus actaully increased Testosterone, but plenty of research has been conducted in the last decade disproving that.

As a libido enhancer, however, Tribulus may be effective.  Unfortunately, the dose present in AnthroPlex is extremely low so…no guarantees there.

Eurycoma Longifolia (LongJack) is similar to the other aphrodisiac herbs discussed above, but has actually been shown to restore Testosterone in instances of low Testosterone.  This places it a step above supplements like Tribulus and Horny Goat Weed in terms of therapeutic value…but again, the issue is with the dosing.

AnthroPlex contains an undisclosed amount of Longjack, so we have no idea how effective it is.  Doing some basic Supplement Facts proprietary blend math, it’s highly unlikely that AnthroPlex contains anywhere near a clinical dose of LongJack.

Anthroplex Ingredient Takeaway

Some of the ingredients in AnthroPlex are effective for enhancing libido and general vitality, but what Alex Jones fails to mention is that they’re all extremely under-dosed.  The doses of each ingredient are hidden in one big proprietary blend, but based on a weight of 710mg, we can conclude the ingredients are NOT clinically dosed.  This means the formula is not guaranteed to work.

Is Anthroplex Safe?

Yes, that is the one thing AnthroPlex does have going for it.  All of the ingredients have been researched enough to have pretty established safety profiles and considering the doses are all pretty low, there’s probably nothing to worry about with this formula.

Where To Buy Anthroplex

As with the other InfoWars products, AnthroPlex is available through

As mentioned in our Brain Force review, Alex is a direct-to-consumer type of guy so we wouldn’t expect to see AnthroPlex sold anywhere else.

The Bottom Line

As a standalone libido/vitality enhancer, AnthroPlex is pretty weak.  Most (if not all) the ingredients are under-dosed to the point where they probably aren’t that effective.  Combined with Super Male Vitality, it may help a little, but there are plenty of much more effective Natural Testosterone Boosters that will do a much better job than Anthroplex and Super Male Vitality combined.
