Alpha Monster Advanced: An Evidence-Based Review

Alpha Monster Advanced is a muscle-building supplement which is supposed to enhance stamina, increase Testosterone, and cause “explosive muscle pumps”.

Well, we’ve definitely heard these claims before and rarely does a supplement actually live up to the marketing claims.  So, let’s take a look at Alpha Monster Advanced and see what it really has to offer.  Shall we?

Alpha Monster Advanced

Alpha Monster Advaned Claims/Benefits

The makers of Alpha Monster Advanced claim it will:

  • Increase Testosterone (but not how much…)
  • Promote muscle pumps during workouts
  • Enhance stamina (presumably in all areas)

Well, we’ve heard these claims plenty of times before from so called “natural test-boosters” so is Alpha Monster Advanced any different?  The answer to that questions lies in the ingredients, so let’s discuss them…

Alpha Monster Advanced Ingredients

If you’ve had experience with other natural test-boosters, you’ve probably seen most of these ingredients.  They’re the same basic set of ingredients used in thousands of other herbal test-boosters.  All of them have been over-hyped.  Some of them do something.  Some of them are completely useless.  Let’s take a look:

  • Horny Goat Weed
  • Tongkat Ali
  • Saw Palmetto
  • Orchic Substance
  • Wild Yam
  • Sarsparilla
  • Nettle Extract
  • Boron

Now, although we’ve seen all of these ingredients before, this particular blend seems familiar.  Oh, maybe that’s because it’s the exact same formula as Testadrox, a test-booster that we recently reviewed as well.  You can take a look at that review here, but for convenience, we’ll break down each ingredient here as well.

Horny Goat Weed

Horny Goat Weed is an extremely popular ingredient in herbal test-boosters (like Alpha Monster Advanced).  It’s usually standardized for Icariin, the active component that has been studied within the plant as well as in isolation, and has been shown to improve erectile function, enhance libido, and may possibly help optimize (not boost) testosterone levels.

Tongkat Ali

Also known as Longjack, Tongkat Ali is an herbal aphrodisiac that has an extensively history of use in traditional medicine and has been studies somewhat in modern medicine.  It has been shown to improve Test production in individuals with initially low Test production, but how it effects healthy individuals remains unclear.

Saw Palmetto is commonly used as a treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) because it suppresses conversion of Testosterone into DHT (a cause of BPH).  This should theoretically raise free Testosterone.  However, studies in healthy human subjects are non-existent so it’s not clear whether Saw Palmetto really increases free Test levels under normal conditions.

Orchic Substance is obtained from Cattle testicles and is supposed to promote healthy testiculur function in humans.  However, there is absolutely no evidence to support this claim.

The makers of Alpha Monster Advanced are simply capitalizing off the public perception that this ingredient does something.  It doesn’t really.

Wild Yam appears in a lot of natural test-boosters because of preliminary evidence that suggests it may help control Estrogen.  Most of the studies are involving cancer, where high Estrogen leads to the spread of cancer cells, so it’s not clear how Wild Yam effects healthy males.

In the context of Alpha Monster Advanced, Wild Yam probably isn’t particularly useful.

Like Wild Yam, Sarsparilla appears to possess some anti-estrogenic activity, but no studies have been conducted in human males, just cancer patients.

Resaerch indicates that Nettle Extract may reduce the binding of DHT to Sex Hormone Binding Globulin which may indirectly increase free Testosterone levels.  However, there is not much research to go on, especially in healthy human subjects.

Boron is a mineral that you may have come across in multi-vitamins or mineral supplements before.  It fulfills a wide variety of functions in the human body but research also indicates it may be able to boost Testosterone levels to some degree, but not to a particularly significant degree. It’s worth noting that Boron supplementation has also failed to influence Testosterone parameters, so it can’t be considered reliable.

Alpha Monster Advanced Ingredient Takeaway

As mentioned above, what we have here is an ordinary blend of alleged “test-boosting” ingredients that may enhance libido and encourage optimal test production, but won’t boost your Testosterone to the point that accelerated muscle growth actaully occurs.

That is really the downfall of herbal test-boosters that are supposed to promote muscle growth.  They can’t boost Testosterone enough to actaully trigger increased muscle protein.

Is Alpha Monster Advanced Safe?

Yeah, it’s pretty safe.  There is nothing inherently dangerous about any of the ingredients and it’s certainly not “over-dosed”.  Most likely there’s nothing to worry about…except whether it works of course.

Why Is It The Exact Same Formula As Testadrox?

This happens all the time, especialy with herbal testosterone boosters.  It can happen for two reasons.  First, contract manufacturers create what are called “cookie-cutter formuls” which are essentially basic blends of ingredients for a given purpose, in this case test-boosting.  They’ll then use those formualas for all their clients who want to create test-boosters.

Contract manufacturere advertise all the time that they can provide “Stock Formulas” and, unfortunately, a lot of supplement companies that don’t know anything about supplements and are just in it for the money take them up on this.

So what we end up with is an endless array of different brands that are all the same exact product.  Alpha Monster Advanced and Testadrox is just an example but there are probably 100 other supplements with this same formula currently being sold on the internet.

They’re everywhere!

Risk Free Trial?  Not Really…

The whole “Risk Free Trial” thing is complete nonsense.  We see this ALL THE TIME with supplements, especially libido/test-boosters like Alpha Monster Advanced.

If you visit the Alpha Monster Advanced website, you’ll see a prompt that looks like this:

Alpha Monster Advanced Free Trial

Wow, great!   No credit card needed?  They’re so confident in the product that they’re just giving it away for free?  Sounds too good to be true…Because it is!

If you fill out your shipping information, you’ll be redirected to a new page where they’ll ask you for your Credit Card information, claiming that you only need to “pay for shipping”.  It looks like this:

Alpha Monster Advanced Discount

If you proceed to the bottom of the page, however, and read through the “TERMS” section, you’ll find a clause that looks exactly like this:

Alpha Monster Advanced Terms

In other words, you’ll get a bottle of Alpha Monster Advanced for $5.99 (shipping cost) but, by entering your credit card info, you’re actually signing yourself up for a monthly subscription.  If you don’t cancel this subscription within the first two weeks of placing (not receiving) your order, you’ll be charged $89.99/month and sent a new bottle every month until you cancel.

So basically, if you run a full bottle (meaning more than 14 days worth) of Alpha Monster Advanced, you’ll be charged $89.99 at the end of the month.

The Old “Exclusive Discount” Trick

If you’re careful enough to read the terms and conditions before entering your credit card info, and decide to leave the website, you’ll be displayed with a prompt like this:

Alpha Monster Advanced Trial

This is simply an attempt to prevent visitors from exiting the site by loring them back with an offer that seems specialized for them.

If you decide to click on this offer for some reason (maybe you just want to feel special), you’ll be redirected to basically the same page as before, except this time the shipping and handling price has been reduced from $5.99 to $1.99.

Alpha Monster Advanced Offer

To be clear, you have to be kind of stupid to fall for this.  The shipping cost is meaningless to them.  They just want your credit card info one way or another.  They would make shipping completely free except then they wouldn’t get your credit card number.

So they have to charge you SOMETHING, even if it’s just a couple bucks.  That’s how they get you!

Once you get sucked back in by this “discount”, you’ll still be charged the ridiculously high price of $89.99 each month (plus shipping).

Unfortunately, this business model is nothing new…

Same Old Scam, Different Product

Since we’re well aware of these types of marketing scams (yes, we’d use the word scam since they’re really going out of the way to make it seem risk-free), we didn’t order a bottle and try to cancel it but this scheme is nothing new.

Most of the time, when you call the number provided to cancel your subscription, you’ll be given the run-around until you get frustrated and just accept the charge or REALLY give them the business.

They certainly can’t afford to give out millions of free bottles and then refund all the money they make, and since the product doesn’t really work and many people will demand refunds, the success of the business model hinges on two things:

  1. Easy to sign-up
  2. Difficult to cancel

We can’t speak specifically about the makers of Alpha Monster Advanced, but we’ve seen similar schemes where the number isn’t even in service so customers that fall for the “risk-free trial” have no way of canceling and are forced to take it up with their credit card company.

The Bottom Line (Does It Work?)

Alpha Monster Advanced isn’t going to boost your Testosterone through the roof.  It won’t induce abnormal muscle growth and make you suddenly gain a bunch of muscle.

What it can do is encourage normal (healthy) Testosterone production and, if you have abnormally low Testosterone levels, it can help restore them.

This is primarily due to Tongkat Ali and Horny Goat Weed, as those are the only ingredients with sound science behind them.  The others are kind of speculative, but may do something.

Unfortunately, in order to run a full bottle of Alpha Monster Advanced, you’ll miss the free cancelation period and will be forced to pay close to $100.

To put that number in perspective, PhytoHealth Conqurium (the #1 rated supplement on our Best Muscle Builders List) is only around $80, can be purchased from Amazon (money back guarantee) or direct with no subscription commitment, and is guaranteed to boost your Testosterone through the roof and pack on pounds of lean muscle in 4-6 weeks.

So, is Alpha Monster Advanced worth it?  We can’t see how when there are plenty of Muscle Bulding Supplements that actually work extremely well and cost less.  But it’s your money… exists to educate the supplement community and seperate the science from the hype.
